Claressa Shields will have the toughest moment of her career when she takes on her toughest opponent yet, Christina Hammer. Hammer had a strong performance in her U.S. debut and is the more experienced boxer. She showed a stiff jab and the ability to land solid combinations in her fight against Tori Nelson, and it was a close fight with Nelson winning only one round on two of the judges’ scorecards. Shields, though, is tough and will most likely go down in history as one of the best women fighters. With her “I can get put on my a**, get back up, fight 10 rounds and win” attitude. UPPERCUT believes Shields will be too much for Hammer even considering that Shields and Hammer nearly came to blows in the center of the ring after a main event was completed. A fight between the two for their middleweight belts would be the best bout that can be made in women’s boxing. We favor Shields, but Hammer would present her with plenty of problems. And it would be great for the sport. If anyone can beat Shields it’s Hammer. Hold on for this one, it will be a great one to watch.
